planks -> MHT

planks -> maximum hold time

Equipment needed: floor, stopwatch

Goal and measurement

The goal is to test the endurance of the oblique muscles and core. The result you record is the time you can keep your body straight.

Position

side plank
Lying on your side, lean against one of your elbows on the floor. The other arm should lay along your body.
reverse plank
Support yourself, face up, by leaning against your elbow and forearms on the floor.

Procedure

Raise your torso so your body makes a straight line. The test ends when you are unable to keep your body straight. It is recommended that you wear close fitting clothing that do not hide your body position, e.g. voluminous t-shirts or sweatpants.
